I got back to painting a little today, and I’m excited about the changes afoot!
As you know, I’ve been having so much fun painting and playing with new techniques and learning how different paints and inks react with mediums. I’ve been basically pleased with how my canvases were turning out although they were going in surprising directions that were a bit different than what I was hoping to create. I don’t even know what you would call the style, but it just wasn’t quite the “tattered ‘n worn” look I was going for.
Today I decided to experiment a bit and add more “me” to the canvases. I’m missing a few of the supplies I need so I’m back to the store tomorrow, but I wanted to show you where I am, lest you think I’m being a complete slacker!
I’m looking to start from the same place as before, but with lots more texture, and more “mixed” in my mixed media.
I am participating in a “For The Love Of Art” blog hop on Valentine’s Day, and need to have at least one done by then! Yikes! The pressure is on. Just the way I like it.

These pieces look like they have a great start. So envious that you got some studio time in.
Thanks, Linda…wish I could paint all day, every day for awhile!

These look really lovely so far Janet. No art time for me- we have school holidays this week so I have been out with my partner and daughters visiting castles (one of our favourite pastimes)- Stirling Castle today, wow!
I can’t tell you how jealous I am! We LOVED Stirling Castle!
