Today turned out to be scrapbook day all day long, and even into the evening. The project I’m working on at the moment is my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding album. It is very late in coming, and I’m not even going to try to explain why. Suffice it to say there are some discrepancies in the story as to how it ended up as my project, but now that it is, I want to get it finished up before the end of the month, in time for their anniversary in early December.
They are coming for Thanksgiving, and I fantasized about having it ready by then, but even though I’m doing it very simply, it is quite time-consuming, so unless all the stars line up just right, it isn’t going to ready by then!
The album itself is beautiful. It is by K & Co. and is an elegant white sating with stitching and flowers. The photo doesn’t really do it justice.
The colors for the wedding were white, silver, burgundy and green, since it was a December wedding, and I carried those colors through to the album. I have a tendency to be pretty fussy in most of my scrapbooking (read lots of stuff and little “white space”) and my daughter-in-law, Meegan, prefers more simple and elegant pages, so I toned down my craziness for her. Because of that I thought it would go pretty fast, but that hasn’t been the case.
Here are a few pages for you to peruse…
I like how the album is coming along…it meets my goal of simple and elegant. But I’m still struck by how long it is taking in light of how simple the pages are.
I’m accustomed to spending hours on a single layout, and not thinking too much about it. For some reason, for this I expected to have more to show for a whole day’s work! Oh, well, I still have a bit more time tonight and and a few hours tomorrow. Maybe I’ll feel like I accomplished enough by then!

Beautiful couple. The pages are elegant! Sounds like a good day.
Thanks, Rae! It was good. Busy, but good.

happy aedm! beautiful album… it certainly takes time no matter how simple you think it is… I think simple is at times more time consuming to get just right!
I hadn’t thought of it that way, Linda, but you could be right. You can hide a lot of sins with embellishments! Thank you!

Treasure – what a treasure! I love how your photos are the focus (beautiful couple by the way) and the colors, papers, embellishments, etc. just drawing the eye to the photos.
Thank you, Carolyn. That is what I am hoping for, something she will treasure!

sometimes simple takes more time, more advance planning/thinking
I’ll just go with that! Anyway, today I showed her what I have so far, and she seems pleased! Yippee!
